Fibers of different origin

Fibers of different origin

Fibers differ from samples of the same substance mainly in terms of particle shape. The different origin plays the essential role, since measuring methods for metal powders are equally relevant for metal fibers, and methods for carbon powders for carbon fibers. If, however, fibers are converted into a filter form, specific measurement methods are relevant for this task, in particular the capillary flow porometry. Therefore, the main purpose of the future application and the material origin decide which measurement methods should be used for the characterization.
