The Bettersizer ST is a fully automatic, reliable and compact measuring device for determining particle size distribution based on established laser diffraction technology with wet dispersion in the 0.1 – 1000 µm range. It is ideally suited for standard measurements in the micrometer range for samples that can be dispersed/prepared in aqueous media and is also characterized by very simple operation on both the software and hardware side.
Using the patented DLOS setup of the optical bench (Dual Lense Optical System) – a technology based on the Fourier setup combined with a second lens in the backscattering direction, a single-laser system and high detector density – an almost continuous scattering angle range of 0.031 – 159° can be covered. This enables precise particle size determination from 0.1 – 1000 µm.
The Bettersizer ST offers integrated wet dispersion designed for aqueous media with adjustable ultrasound up to 50W power and centrifugal pump. Thanks to the option of SOP-based measurement (Standard Operation Procedure) in conjunction with the automatic laser centering function, measurements can be automated during use and carried out very easily and with maximum reproducibility. The evaluation is easily possible according to both Mie and Fraunhofer theory.
