In our workshop “From Molecule to Powder: Characterization possibilities in life science, food and pharma” we will discuss with you the principles and methods for the analysis of particle, powder and dispersion properties, with a focus on particle size, particle shape, dispersion stability, zeta potential, BET surface area and various macroscopic powder properties. The workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to the basics of the different measurement methods and the practical implementation of analyses and is primarily aimed at participants from the life sciences, food and pharmaceutical industries.

What to expect

  • Characterization of macromolecular structures and nanodispersions using DLS & ELS and other methods

  • Investigation of microparticles with regard to size and shape using laser diffraction and image analysis

  • Stability analysis of emulsions and suspensions using multiple light scattering

  • Determination of BET surfaces using physisorption methods

  • Analysis of macroscopic powder properties
